Hi everyone
started following IV after my friend told me about it. got some useful info and really admire the time members put to answer queries. this is my post and I hope I get some info here. my hubby is looking to relocate to south FL so we both can live and work in same place. he did get couple offers - one from a insurance firm and another from a software company - Citrix. looks like first one will only do EB-3 although the position requires 5+ years exp. does anyone know if Citrix does GC under EB-2 ?

Guys,
My wife was working on H1B now and she got EAD last week. Out of the following options which is TRUE and which is BETTER.
Option 1--> Moving to EAD from H1B by signing on I-9
Option 2--> COS from H1 to H4 and then to EAD.
I read in some of our threads that if we choose option 1 and if something goes wrong in AOS, we have to file for new H1B again. We have to wait for quota etc etc.
I also read that if we choose Option 2, if something goes wrong in EAD, we can always change back [ie RESUME]to H1B.
I am not so sure about these. Could some one share their thought.

Option 1 (epassporphoto) is good. I have used it more then once for US as well as UK visa (also my daughter's Indian Passport)
Just a few tips --
Make sure
1) you take the photo under Fluoroscent (tube) light or outdoor.
2) there is not too much shadow behind
3) the background is white (or something very light)
4) if you wear glasses, remove those
5) your face should be straight (both ears should be visible)

My i485 was filed in july �07 and I got my AP in oct. �07, which is valid up to oct. �08
I want to go to India for 9 months, can I stay for that much period?
I will enter in USA in feb.� 09 on my H1-B VISA STAMP ONLY, BUT NOT ON AP.
Is this work? Any questions at POE about the long stay outside USA?

Now enter your receipt number:
press 1 to confirm receipt number
Now listen to the case update info, somewhere in the middle of blah-blah
press 3 to report a problem with your case
press 4 for filed several related applications and have received the information on some but not all
(now if you listen a male voice prompting you to hold the call that means the call is going to IOs desk, if it says no IO is available, it will redirect it to NSC, you can hang up and try the next morning)

Hi guys.
I have been looking at several options on a new lens. I don't have a big budget to go out and buy the lens I really want, and looking around it seems that Olympus doesn't have a very wide selection of affordable lenses. I have an Olympus E-Volt 500, and I did see that I can get an adapter ring that would allow me to use any lens that will work with a Nikon Digital Camera. My question is....would using an adapter ring to use other brands of lenses detract from the quality of my images, and would it take away from the speed of the lens?

what would be the likely effect of this ?
The purpose behind this move is to make the process more efficient and to reduce fraud by having each service center specialize in processing a particular form. But if the BECs are anything to go by, I will be surprised if this doesn't make things worse.

Just a heads up about the new filing requirements for I-129s and I-140s. See link. In a nutshell all I-129s go to Vermont Service Center and all I-140s go to the Nebraska Service Center.

You may as well ask uscis to ask for the remainder of the H1B period provided there is an employer who is willing to process your H1B. Remember, you will have to lose your current I485 processing and start all the way from scratch though you can recapture the priority date with the new GC process.

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently updated their list of Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) approved schools (http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/ApprovedSchools.pdf). The schools listed have all been certified to participate in the program.
The program allows foreign students interested in obtaining an education in the United States to complete a visa petition, pay the required fee, and attend a U.S. College or University.
Interested Foreign students: There is a process in obtaining a student visa, but it is not a difficult one. The student must first obtain Form I-20 from the U.S. College or University from which he/she intends to enroll, pay the required visa fee (Form I-901) and contact a local U.S. Consulate/Embassy to schedule an interview. The SEVP procedures differ among U.S. Consulates/Embassies; contact your U.S. Consulate/Embassy NOW to determine its particular procedure on applying for a visa before planning for the interview.
Interested Schools: There is a separate process to obtain F & M Certification. Authorized school officials must obtain and complete Form I-17. An overview of the SEVP Certification process can be found on the ICE website . If approved, the school will be certified and allowed to issue Form I-20 to qualifying foreign students.

I have read around here about some people sending in their applications earliert then the recommended 120 days and they all got receipts so don't anticipate any issues with that. As far as photo's are concerned you don't have to send any photos with your efiled Ead since you will be called for a finger printing and photo session but for AP you need to send pic's and don't forget to write your A# behind the photos. Hope this helps. Read the link below for more info on what you need to send for AP and for EAD you will get a list of doc's they require once you are done filing online.

Yes I did send a copy of I-485. I also sent a copy of her previous approved AP.
